Perception
by: Blue Faerie

What do you see when you look at me
Perhaps a woman
Perhaps even beauty
Want to know what I see
Want to see what's really there
I see an ugly little girl
Striving to reach perfection
Failing every time
Physical strength keeps her up
Emotional weakness drags her down
Hopes and prayers surpass the norm
Drowning in her own tears
Reality fails her
She hides behind fantasies
Fantasies she knows aren't real
Her ugliness shattering truth
Failure choking hope to death
That which becomes her
This ugly little girl before you
