Look In Me
by: Angie

I try not to cry
I was never cried for
And never would be
Not the sweet delicate angel a girl should be
Nor a lovable princess to try and win
Too strong for my own good
Too weak for my own death
Was once a candle burning bright
Now snuffed out and all is history:
The smile inside, the innocence,
Now I'm a face
Staring, glaring back
To see solemn eyes
To an empty soul
And a nameless face
To a marked life

Look at me
I have a soul,
Look in me
I have a name.
