To My Sister
by: Leah

I've watched you stand here before,
Your soul and body withering away.
And though I try I cannot ignore
That I'm wearing your shoes today.
It is clear to me now how strong you are
To have conquered the villain within.
I can only hope to move so far,
But I can't find where to begin.
Beautiful sister come take my hand
and lead me to a safer place,
The place where you triumphantly stand
With a radiant smile upon your face.
