She Stands Before You
by: MM

She stands before you
Frail and beautiful, yet lost and alone
They tell her she looks like an angel and silently wish they could be her
Envying her, yet egging her on -
For they donít see what she does behind closed doors
In order to be what they want her to be
They donít see the pain and the violence and the blood and the bile
They donít feel the cramps and the nausea and the tiredness and the cold

They donít see the blisters and the swollen throat and the insidious
loathing that feeds on her cravings
They donít hear that voice urging her on, punishing her and screaming at
her and turning her to stone
They donít hear her late at night, crying pitifully like a little child
lost and alone and frightened
Terrified of the darkness, petrified that sheíll go too far and lose
herself forever
Desperately trying to fight the monsters that hide under her bed at
night, - that are still there in the morning
Taunting her, goading her on in her private death march
And she is still so tragically young, yet feeling so weary, so old
before her time
Disgusted by the shallowness of these people who choose to ignore the
sadness in her eyes
For all she wants is someone to look deep inside and cradle the wanting
she so longs to feed
Fearful that for all the beauty that surrounds her, itís this insipid
ugliness that will eventually devour her
So here she stands before you, pathetic and ashamed and pleading for
understanding and forgiveness and escape from the vile, sick, depraved
world she stumbled upon so long ago
Beautiful child, here she stands before you, dying before your very eyes

Beautiful angel, here she stands alone
