in the distance, she hears her name being called
but this time she doesnt mind
for she has gone somewhere far away
and left herself behind
the sound of her name being spoken from a distance
doesnt have the same familiar ring
where she is now she can see a choir of angels
and hear their heavenly voices sing
she lays her head on a pillow of clouds
safer than she has ever been
she is warm and comforted and a
gentle breeze replaces the chilling wind
and when her name is spoken here
it carries a distinctly different tone
that lets her know she is loved here,
that she will never be alone
and here the arms that reach for her
only make her feel
that she is going to be alright here
that in time she will heal
and those hands that touch her here
would never cause her harm
would never make her feel dirty
or activate her internal alarm
and here she knows she is special
and has no need to feel ashamed
she has no need to defend herself
for here she is not the one blamed
and here they remind her
that she has done no wrong
they tell her how brave she is
that she is good and has been strong
and here they tell her that her
body is not bad and is ok
that it is hers and it is safe
and never again shall he have his way
in awe of her new surroundings
she lets out a relieved sigh
she still has no idea that to be safe
and free she had to say goodbye.
