Conflicting Thoughts
by: Kiersten
My eyes deceive me,
Look to the ground
My ears fight ever so hard
To block out E.D.'s sound
A faint whisper,
Must listen real close,
Repeatedly laughing
"Recovery is but a joke"
The problem is gone,
just a thing of the past,
I am tired of talking,
yet am still slipping fast
They say it's a process,
we must all battle through
They tell me to focus
On what I know is true
Hungar pangs donot exist,
But thoughts of food continually persist
Nagging at my brain again and again,
pleading with me to put it to an end
I am not like them, no not me,
I am not the kitten, stuck high in the tree
I have a life, goals to reach
Days to savour, so much to see
Go away, find someone else
There is no longer room for you in my house
I will not let you in, no not again
I will never, never let you be my friend
