Hiding in a lie
Just to cover the tears
That they have made her cry
In our own innocent years
Forced to hurt
For them to love
Saying we arent good
Was that final shove
Falling down
In this well of shame
Hidden in popularity
With our well known names
A crime to be pretty
And killing ourselves
Looking in the mirror
Is some part of hell
Every time we run
It is from what you have said
A hurt inside
We shall all be dead
Throwing up
Or maybe I will not eat
And I will exercise until I collapse
And they wont have me beat
Perfect I will be
And perfect I will stay
Until they believe
That the way I am is okay
I must have the right clothes
And I must talk to "you"
My realism is all a lie
I should be see through
Transparent at best
That is what we all are
And that is accepted by you
This has gone too far
But we are "us"
And that is what you all want
Beauty is something
That you have taught
Is all that matters
In this life of pain
And that is why
We all feel such shame
That is why
We go to these clinics
We see these councilors
And we are all thought of as cynics
We hate ourselves
Because you have ruined us
By beating us down
And then taking our trust
Please can you understand
That when you say
Something that hurts
We don't forget the next day
We hear it over and over
And it is always there
We hate ourselves
And think life is unfair
My hair is falling out
My skin is dry and hurts
I throw up at night
Just because of some harsh words
That were spoken by someone
Who didnt care
That four years later
Those words would still be there
My memory is gone
And my heart will not beat right
I exercised until I passed out
Because someone said my stomach is not tight
I do not eat my dinner
Or any other meal
Because someone said I was fat
And that is how I feel
All we want is to be loved
And for you all to see
That our disorders are caused by you
And the rest of society.
