Am I...
by: Kelli D.

Locked in a cage,
I scream for help
As people pass,
they laugh and joke
Am I invisible?

The cage has two doors,
one screams "me," the other "me"
Torn between,
I crumble down.
Am I alone?

I pick door number two
and find my riches
Real or fake,
it doesn't matter
Am I desperate?

I come to a hall with two more doors,
One reads "in"
One reads "out"
I choose "out"
Am I that naive?

The door labeled "out"
was the wrong one,
for it took my life, not my problems,
Now am I alone?
