Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders
The Yale Center for Eating and Weight Disorders (YCEWD) serves men and women who experience problems related to food, eating, weight, and body image. Operated by the Yale University Department of Psychology, the clinic is located in a professional district adjacent to the campus. Our mission is to provide services to members of the community, train doctoral students in clinical psychology, and do clinical research to better understand eating and weight disorders. The YCEWD provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy on an outpatient basis for obesity, binge eating disorder, bulimia nervosa, and anorexia nervosa. We also provide brief consultations to family members of eating disordered individuals. All services offered by the clinic are provided by therapists who specialize in the treatment of eating and weight disorders and participate on a treatment team composed of Yale faculty and practitioners from the community. Our clinic also provides referrals to and collaborates with medical and nutritional professionals when needed.
