Texas Health Springwood Center of Southlake
Intensive outpatient treatment designed for those struggling with an eating disorder. Patients must be medically stable and not requiring stabilization in an inpatient setting. The treatment program uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focus which includes identifying and correcting distorted thoughts about weight, eating, and self image. Behavioral planning is an important aspect for addressing changes in destructive eating patterns. In addition, the program works to build skills for coping, mindfulness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance. Body image preoccupation, negative labeling, and distortion is also addressed. Generally patients are in the program about 18 sessions. We meet 3 times weekly for 3 hour sessions and includes a structured brown bag meal. Patients are encouraged to start or continue seeing an individual therapist and a dietician. Our program coordinates care with these community providers to ensure a successful treatment episode and discharge plan.
