DBT Skills Group: The goal of this group is to help the members develop skills for effectively living their lives without compulsively eating, binging, purging, not eating at all or compulsively exercising. Often we just don't have the skills needed to do so. This program was designed to help each member achieve an enhanced quality of life. Through the following modules: (1) Core Mindfulness –To increase self awareness and learn to focus effectively on one thing at a time. (2) Distress Tolerance Skills- Consist of techniques and crisis survival strategies. These skills help individuals to behave in a less impulsive and self-destructive manner. (3) Emotional Regulation- Presents a model for discussing and understanding emotions, as well as methods to decrease negative emotions and to increase positive emotions. (4) Interpersonal Effectiveness–To improve relationship satisfaction and communication skills.
