California Graduate Institute Counseling CenterI treat all food and body image issues, from the general use of food to dull emotions, to fully developed eating disorders. My treatment approach is "object relations" which focuses on gaining insight into how we've internalized important people in our lives, and how we use food to deal (or not) with these people in our internal worlds, and to manage emotions that come up in relationships to others. This way I treat the issues that underlie the eating issues, not just the behavior itself. I provide individual therapy for all age groups. Additionally I conduct therapy groups for children, adolescents, and adults. An initial consultation is required before being placed in a group, to ensure that the group will be a good fit for each client and make sure that it's a safe place for all group members. No drop-in's.
