Silver Hill Hospital
A not-for-profit psychiatric hospital providing treatment for eating disorders treatment for men and women ages 13 and older. Treatment focuses on helping patients relearn how to eat in a healthy way, identify emotional issues that trigger symptoms, identify new coping strategies and adjust old thinking patterns that prevent recovery.
The treatment team includes: clinically trained registered dietitian, psychiatrists, nurses and social workers. Treatment includes group and family therapy, individual sessions, medication management, educational activities and skill-building techniques. Group therapy includes body image education, creative therapies, communication and coping skills. Supervised meals and snacks are also part of the program. The daily “Food and Feelings” group encourages patients to discuss the highlights of their day, what they learned and their personal treatment goals. A weekly Family Forum addresses relapse prevention and the medical/nutritional aspects of recovery.
