Psychotherapy
I have worked with people in both individual and group settings that have suffered from Eating Disorders. I have several years training in DBT and psychodynamic approach both of which teaches the client to understand how thoughts affect feeling and feeling affects behavior. DBT integrates cognitive behavior therapy with cultivating both mindfulness and acceptance techniques. DBT is especially helpful for individuals who have difficulty regulating or dealing with their emotions. Focused on validating the difficulties of life's struggles, the apparent difficulty with conflicting and intense emotions, and the desire to make important changes, DBT is a highly practical and direct form of therapy.
