Matt Keck is one of very few men in the San Francisco Bay Area who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. Matt provides Individual, Group and Family Therapy to those individuals and families struggling with eating disorders. Possessing extensive knowledge from research and treatment, he works collobartively with his clients to determine a plan for healing and recovery. Treatment for eating disorders is a complicated process that requires lots of work and commitment on the part of the therapy team, the client and their family. The word “team” is used intentionally because eating disorders often have a medical and nutritional component as well. Most times, treatment consists of meeting regularly with a therapist, a dietician, a psychiatrist, and a medical doctor or nurse practitioner. Matt employs a variety of empirically validated treatments to assist the client on their journey to recovery. But what is often the most important factor is the trusting, collaborative relationship established as he and his clients strive together toward the client’s wellness.For those who would prefer group therapy, Matt is currently offering several group formats for the treatment of eating disorders:* Twice Monthly Support Group for Eating Disorders (This is a free group that is not psychotherapy, but a forum for those suffering from eating disorders to support one another.)* Group for Families struggling with Eating Disorders. (Families meet together to work through family issues and support one another to regain control over the eating disorder that is afflicting a member of the family.)Whatever approach works best for you, it is important to remember that you are not alone and that there is help available. Matt feels priveleged to be able to provide individuals and fmailies with the support they need during these difficult times and works dilligently with each of clients to restore balance and happiness to their lives.
