Mary Barkhurst-Ortenburger, M.S., LMFT
Mary is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist whose practice includes: individuals, families, adolescents, children, and couples. With over six years of experience as a mental health therapist, she specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, anxiety, addictions, depression, and severe trauma. In her time as a therapist, she has practiced in both residential and outpatient settings, and has done extensive work with trauma and crisis intervention. Her vast experience treating adolescents in various therapeutic settings has afforded her the opportunity to develop effective strategies in working with highly resistant youth. Mary uses an authentic, humanistic approach with her clients, in order to provide them with a safe and non-threatening environment. She integrates humanistic, existential, and systemic models of therapy, and customizes her treatment approach to adapt to individual client needs. Mary is fluent in American Sign Language and Spanish.
