Harmony Place at St. Joseph's Villa
The adolescent eating disorders program at St. Joseph’s Villa is an 8-bed community treatment residence offering round-the-clock comprehensive service every day of the year to boys and girls (age 12-19) struggling with an eating disorder. The first residential program of its kind in New York State is led by a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals including nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical therapists, dietitians, residential counselors, and physicians.
The program offers at least 20 group therapies per individual per week with an additional 8 plus hours of individual and family therapies. Therapeutic sessions use empirically-based approaches to focus on client needs, including addressing co-occurring disorders such as chemical dependency, anxiety and depression.
Families are vital components in adolescent recovery plans, and Harmony Place follows a Maudsley-informed family-based therapy approach.
