Dr. Jeffrey DeSarbo, D.O.
Dr. DeSarbo is a psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. His personalized, relational approach includes a comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluation to determine the best approach to treatment. As a physician, Dr. DeSarbo can prescribe medications when appropriate to address severe emotional issues that may interfere with ED recovery. Currently, Dr. DeSarbo is completing his book entitled Demystifying the Biology of Eating Disorders which explains the research conducted over the past 15 years which helps individuals understand the biological aspects and considerations when treating eaing disorders. Dr. DeSarbo is academically oriented and spends a significant amount of time on patient and family education. He has lectured at national conferences and is on the board of the National Eating Disorder Association of Long Island.Dr. DeSarbo's main office is in Garden City, N.Y. and he has satellite offices in Hauppauge and Riverhead, N.Y. He works as a part of a team with several other specialist in the field of eating disorders.
