Dr. Daisy Miller
Behavioral nutrition bridges the gap between nutrition and psychology. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to reframe patients' agendas and teach integrative eating skills to expedite recovery. I examine and challenge patients' food, eating, and weight rules and associated fears, and provide them with substitute thoughts and behaviors that are empowering and improve self-esteem. My counseling sessions are relaxed, non-threatening, and minimally clinical (no scale weighing). I see patients with bulimia, anorexia, binge eating disorder, and EDNOS (eating disorders not otherwise specified) with no medical urgency. Treatment progress and outcome success is based on approaching general good physical health, normalization of eating behaviors, and improved body image and self-esteem.
