Research Based Treatment approaches include several levels of an INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM that is schedule friendly – A two (2) month program that includes evening and Saturday sessions with up to four (4) 2 ½ to 3-hour intensive eating disorder group sessions per week, plus a 1 ½ hour standard group therapy session. Programming includes: Very supportive environment with supervised meals and snacks, daily client-determined goals, over 70 structured exercises/worksheets to assist client with insight, coping strategies, assistance with difficult times of recovery, reframing of cognitive distortions and scenes of powerlessness, meal planning, situational planning, negotiating relationships, spiritual needs, and shame reduction. Family support and education, group, individual, and family sessions are included. The Eating Disorder Recovery Center also provides lower levels of care including: Individual Therapy, Nutrition Therapy, Family Therapy, and a 90 minute Group therapy meeting. A donation only Family and Friend Support and Education Program also is available on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 8 PM to 9 PM. Deborah has developed a large informational and supportive eating disorders website, published booklets on eating disorder recovery, shame, body image, and alternatives to relapse, produced a CD with autogenic hypnosis for body imagery and relaxation, conducted 6 year research study on core affect fueling eating disorders.
