I have an established private practice where I see individuals, couples and adolescents. I specialize in working with personality disorders, dissociation, self harm, depression and PTSD. My background is comprehensively informed by 25 + years of medical experience coupled with 13 years of practice in mental health. I have experience with eating disorders from the Stanford Lucille Packard Children's eating disorder unit which encompasses the medical and the psychological aspects. The approach to treatment is tailored to where the particular client is in her/his process which ranges from cognitive interventions (e.g. Dialectical Behavior Therapy) for the more concrete phases that require acute management to the psychodynamic for clients who are ready to move into an intimate understanding of how they experience life with all its attendant anxieties and confusion. Many times I will blend these two approaches to fit what is needed at the moment.
