Beth Hartman McGilley, Ph.D.
In my clinical practice, I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of eating disorders. My approach to therapy is informed by a feminist perspective and my treatment interventions are directed by current, state of the art practice guidelines for the treatment of eating disorders. Over the course of the past 16 years, I have been the director of an inpatient eating disorders program, co-founded and co-directed an outpatient eating disorders clinic (P.A.T.H. Clinic, LLC of Wichita), and co-founded and served as President and Vice President of a nonprofit foundation dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders in Kansas (Healing Path Foundation). Treating and preventing eating disorders is my life's passion, and I feel privileged to do this "work." I am now in a solo private practice, providing individual, family, couples and group therapy. My current groups include an adolescent/college age eating disorders group and an adult women's survivors of trauma group. In addition to providing ED evaluations and treatment, I have supervised psychology interns, medical students and psychiatric residents for 16 years through my affiliation with the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. I thoroughly enjoy supervision, and am committed to improving the limited treatment resources in Wichita and South Central Kansas. I have lectured extensively over the years, including at the Renfrew Conference, and the International Conference on Eating Disorders (now called the Academy of Eating Disorders Conference). My other areas of clinical specialty include adult survivors of trauma, impaired athletes, depressive and anxiety disorders, women's issues, end of life and grief issues.
