Affiliated to A.N.A.D. - Illinois - USA( Appointed state co-ordinators for Africa ) We are a Non Profit organisation dedicated to alleviating the problems of Psychological Eating Disorders.' The family support group was founded in 1992 for the sole purpose of assisting both family members and sufferers of Psychological Eating Disorders. The support group is based on world trends that have extensive research in Psychological Eating Disorders. Our aim is to provide help mutually in a confidential atmosphere for family members in similar situations... To learn techniques for coping with the disorder. To gather information about research and available treatment resources. To advocate increased public awareness and more comprehensive treatment programs. To provide updated information about professional treatment facilities available. To provide on line help facilities Financial constraints placed on the provision of Mental Health services placing limits on available treatment programs... The growing recognition that families constitute a major source of care. That families and sufferers want and need accurate information about Anorexia and Bulimia. Eating disorders put a tremendous strain on family members - support groups can help families learn to live with an individual with an eating disorder. Remember... Eating Disorders are an illness not a weakness
