Amanda offers compassionate, encouraging support – with a straightforward approach that can be especially beneficial to those accustomed to the “secretiveness” that often accompanies eating disorders. Because of her personal encounter with an eating disorder, Amanda is also able to identify with clients on a level beyond simply the “textbook treatment” many in the field may provide. Amanda also has extensive experience and familiarity in working with other mental health disorders that are frequently related to eating disorders (including, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders). She primarily uses a cognitive-behavioral approach in her treatment of the disorders.Amanda’s knowledge and understanding of the day-to-day challenges and needs of individuals battling an eating disorder provide a secure therapeutic alliance for clients to receive the support and change they are seeking.Amanda has a Master of Social Work (MSW)degree from George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Missouri and is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Association of Eating Disorders.
