In Loving Memory...

Who taught me that one woman can make a difference, and that every woman should try.

II. Cor. 4:7
Jan. 26, 1979 - May 2, 1998

Daughter, Sister, Aunt, True Friend. Our beautiful little piano player. She is in the presence of God due to her battle with anorexia and bulimia, but I refuse to let her life be lost in vain. We miss you, Beka! Love, Jenn

She was only 19 and I felt as though I was just getting to know her. My sister suffered a cardiac arrest on the morning of April 30, 1998 in her dorm room at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago due to struggling with both anorexia and bulimia. She had no oxygen to her brain for 2 hrs. as ER personnel tried desperately to restart her heart. Her body was depleted of electrolytes and potassium which made the task of keeping her alive impossible. Our entire immediate family flew to Chicago to touch our little sister/daughter one last time as we said good-bye to her and had to take her off life support. There was nothing left of the person we knew and loved due to these horrid eating disorders. She is survived by her parents, Wes & Diane, her sister, Jennifer & husband John, brothers, Matthew and Joshua and Josh's family Karey and niece Elise and two grandmothers...not to mention a multitude of other family & friends who miss her greatly.
