This is the last poem Kerry wrote.
It was composed just two months before her death.
I'm walking down this winding path again
Not sure where I am going or where I will end.
Convincing myself it's going to be all right
As I lay frightened all through the night.
The moaning and gurgling are plain to hear
As they echo my greatest fear.
Not sure as to who to believe
Who's going to be there to help bring the relief
This pain that keeps growing
Takes control without my knowing.
It looms in my head
Wishing me to be dead.
I will not surrender as I walk down this path,
I've got to hang on through the aftermath.
My greatest battle has arrived,
Please God let me be the one to survive.
