Catherine Dunbar

January 1984 - died from anorexia nervosa in her London home at age 22. Catherine struggled with severe anorexia and bulimia for seven long years. Her weight went from about 120 pounds to 60 pounds. At times, she was known to swallow up to 150 laxatives a day. Her family of two brothers, a sister, and loving parents agonized through many hospitalizations and physical complications, along with Catherine's anorexic rituals and demands. Catherine's short life is documented in a book written by her mother, available through the Internet Book Shop (do a subject search on netscape) or from Penguin Books.
